Learning and development programmes to keep all leaders and helpers at the top of their game!
We believe that even the most experienced leaders need to have access to regular ongoing training and support in order to help them be as effective as possible in their role!
Urban Saints is committed to taking each leadership team through a comprehensive training programme before they start running a new Urban Saints' Group. Written and delivered by practising leaders, this highly engaging and practical programme provides a really effective grounding in the areas that new teams will need to know when starting out.
We also aim to provide all of our volunteer leaders with access to ongoing learning and development resources provided by Urban Saints and other organisations whose expertise and networks we tap into. These resources are usually accessed via local/regional training events, but we are creating a new online 'Toolkit' portal which will become a complete one-stop-shop for a wide range of materials aimed at keeping volunteer leaders and helpers completely trained and resourced.
This new resource is available to all Urban Saints' Groups. Written to help develop leadership potential in young people from 14 to early twenties, this year-long, on-the-job programme is highly practical, great fun and supported by a website full of extension videos and downloadable resources.
Understanding additional needs is one area of training we are particularly keen to support. Our Additional Needs Ministry Director, Mark Arnold, is in particular demand as one of the top authorities on the subject.
'All Inclusive?' is a series of six different training seminars that cover working with children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.
Mark and his team can also provide a consultancy service for your church or local group and Mark regularly writes training materials and articles for a variety of publications.
