On Wednesday 16th July, 2025, Urban Saints’ Additional Needs Ministry reached a landmark milestone. 20,000 adults trained to better support children and young people with additional needs in their churches and youth groups.
That means an estimated 40,000 young people are now being better included, understood, and discipled in spaces that are becoming more accessible and welcoming.
"Reaching this milestone means a lot to me," says Mark Arnold, Director of the Additional Needs Ministry.
"We’re seeing a positive shift in the support being given to children and young people with additional needs across the country, and the training we provide is a significant catalyst for that shift."

The impact of the training is already transforming churches. One church, for example, grew from supporting two children with additional needs to supporting 22 children and young people, along with their families.
"For those 40,000 young people, church can now be a place where they are accepted, valued, and belong. A place that truly is their church. That’s so good."
The Additional Needs Ministry offers a range of support, from the popular ‘All Inclusive?’ seminar series covering topics such as autism and sensory needs, to ‘All Inclusive:2U’, a bespoke consultancy service for groups, alongside practical resources and an online learning community.
The milestone is not just about numbers, it represents thousands of stories. Mark reflects on one powerful moment:
"Just last night, after a training session, a woman came up to me and said, ‘Now, for the first time, I understand my 21-year-old autistic daughter.’ That’s why we do this - to inspire, equip, and enable real change in churches, communities, and homes."
What’s next?
"The work continues," says Mark. "There is still much to do, many more children and young people with additional needs require support across the UK. If you're reading this and want to help your church take the next step, please get in touch. Let’s reach the next 20,000 together."
