After 18 years serving on team, Urban Saints President Matt Summerfield will be stepping down later this year.

Matt will be devoting the majority of his time and energy to leading his local church, Hitchin Christian Centre - alongside a continued itinerant ministry in speaking, training and writing.
Matt was appointed as Executive Director in 2000 and led the team through various seasons of change until the end of 2016. In January 2017, Richard Langmead became Urban Saints new full-time CEO to lead the next chapter of the movement, whilst Matt assumed the role of Urban Saints’ first paid President (alongside his role as part-time responsibilities as Senior Pastor of HCC which he has led since April 2012).
Matt said “It’s been a huge privilege to serve Urban Saints for nearly two decades, and as President in this past year. I’m massively excited about the next chapter of the movement under the leadership of Richard, and I’ll continue to cheer it on. We have a great vision and strategy, and a brilliant team poised to deliver it. But it’s time for me to step down because I believe God that has called me to step up in my local church leadership.”
Richard said "I'm very sad that Matt will be leaving - his support has been vital during my first year as CEO. We would never want to stand in the way of God's calling on Matt's life and we'll be praying for him as he moves into full-time Church leadership. Everyone at Urban Saints are behind his decision and will support him as he takes this significant step."
Matt will finish his Urban Saints role in June and Urban Saints do not intend to reappoint a President to replace him at this time.
