New course is a hit with families

5th Mar 2021

Brand new for 2021, Additional Needs Ministry Director Mark Arnold has launched a 'Supporting Families' course which helps with understanding and supporting, practically and pastorally, families of children and young people with additional needs.

The first session took place over Zoom in January and was very well received by the attendees. Tomorrow (Saturday 6th March), Mark runs the course again and so we thought we would share some of the feedback to encourage others to give it a try:

“I have really benefited and been encouraged by this course, especially the opportunity to share experiences and ideas with other people with a heart for families and children. The case studies helped us see what knowledge we already had and what we had learned; a good confidence booster. It worked well having the workbook and videos ahead of the Zoom meeting. Being able to join in from home was a good use of time too."

“Today was great to be a part of and to hear other people’s thoughts. It has inspired me to put (supporting the families of children with additional needs) back in the minds of our leaders”

"It's going to take a while for me to process all the information and then be ready for how God wants us to move forward as a church, but I feel so much better equipped for that to happen. I would really appreciate the opportunity to carry on the conversations started today, it's so helpful to hear what other people are doing or have done... thank you!"

“Left my comfort zone this morning by going to the 'Supporting Families' training by Mark Arnold via Zoom. So glad I did as it was fab! Do get booked on the next one if possible.”

It may now be too late to join us on 6th March, but there's another opportunity to be a part of the 'Supporting Families' course on Saturday 24th April:
