We are thrilled to let you know that Urban Saints has been accepted into the Disabled Children’s Partnership (DCP) as recognition for the work we are doing within the Additional Needs Ministry at Urban Saints.
This adds another accreditation to go alongside our membership of the Council For Disabled Children, the European Disability Network, the Living Fully network, Churches for All, and the Evangelical Alliance.
As a proud member of the Disabled Children’s Partnership – a growing coalition of 80 organisations – we join with the other partners in campaigning for improved health and social care for disabled children, young people and their families in England.
We know that 43% of the British public don’t know anyone who is disabled and that 97% of parents with a disabled child do not believe the public understands the challenges they face every day. Together and through our ministry work we hope to open the eyes of people to the difficulties faced by families on a day-to-day basis, removing the barriers to people being able to relate to the lives of disabled children.
Stephen Kingdom, Campaign Manager for the Disabled Children’s Partnership writes, “I am delighted to welcome Urban Saints to the Disabled Children’s Partnership. You will be our 80th member – so that’s a lovely milestone to reach.”
