Melanie McDonald - the Scotland Support Worker

Meet Melanie

25th Jun 2018

Melanie McDonald is our new Scotland Support Worker and we are really looking forward to what she will bring to Urban Saints Scotland.

We met with her today to find out a little more about what makes her tick.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am married with a little boy and we live in Edinburgh. I grew up on the West Coast in Ayrshire and am an only child.

How did you become a Christian?
I grew up in a Christian home, but all the "God stuff" I had heard about really became real to me when I was about 14 years old.

What is your favourite food?
Anything I don't have to cook myself! I do most of the cooking in my house so having a night off is always a treat.

Which Bible story speaks the most to you?
Probably the story of Joseph. I love the fact that he had a dream which came true, but he really had to work for it and didn't lose faith when things got tough.

Which is your favourite place in our amazing nation?
Inverness! I've always loved it there.

What kind of films do you tend to watch?
Mostly superhero movies. I love Marvel and DC.

What did you do before starting work with Urban Saints?
I worked at Central Church as part of the Operations and the Community teams.
