Q: Tell us a little about you away from Urban Saints
I am the youngest of 6 kids and come from Surrey. I have been married for 7 years to Eliot, who has just got a job with Active Schools for Edinburgh Council. I love the Queen, a proper cup of tea and can’t stand bad grammar.
Q: What is your favourite food?
Q: How did you become a Christian?
Reluctantly (at first!) I went to Spring Harvest when I was a teenager and didn’t want to become a Christian. I left one venue as there was a bad Christian rap artist, so found myself somewhere, and there was a lady praying for me. She then had a word for me which was so accurate, that I realised I had to become a Christian! I haven’t regretted it since.
Q: What’s your favourite movie?
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, or The Martian (starring Matt Damon). Does the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice count?
Q: What’s your background in youth work and what connections do you have to Scotland?
I have done youth work for 10 years across three different churches, as well as for a couple of charities including one that worked with children who were excluded from school. I spent several of my childhood holidays on the Western Isles, and we own a cottage down near Stranraer.
Q: What is your favourite Bible passage or verse?
The Bible story I find most influential is the account of Esther. But my favourite verse(s) would be 2 Corinthians 3:16-18.
Q: What super power would you have if you could choose one?
To fly. Then I could fly easily to McDonalds!
We're delighted to welcome Becca to the Urban Saints team and are really excited to have her serving our local groups and volunteers in Scotland.
