The Re:Act team have had encouraging meetings there recently which have included a number of church leaders from Cowes, Ryde, Sandown, Ventnor, Niton and folks from Westbrook and IOW Youth for Christ.
What is Re:Act 2008? In the summer of 2008, multiple teams of young people will be travelling to villages, towns and cities all over the UK, to work alongside local churches in demonstrating and proclaiming God’s love for people in our communities. Re:Act crosses boundaries of both denominations and age, alongside unity our other core values are discipleship, prayer, excellence, empowering church and integrity. Re:Act will be working in association with DNA and other Christian organisations thus emphasising our commitment to partnership and these other core values.
Where is Re:Act going? Re:Act is already going to Bedford, Blandford, Bridgwater, Chipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Corfe Mullen(Poole), East Molesey, Gravesend, Herne Bay, Hertford, Hitchin, Huddersfield, Kettering, Mansfield, Nottingham, Orpington, Sevenoaks, Surbiton, Tewkesbury, Tonbridge, Whitstable, Wickford and Wrexham. A number of other towns are also about to register.
Is it too late to get my town involved? We are fixing dates for locations now, whilst still having some vacancies, but if your location is interested please contact Bernie Wheeler as soon as possible to avoid disappointment! A whole Kent tour has now been fixed and it looks like potentially we will have tours running in the South West, the Cotswolds, the East, South of London, The North East/North Midlands and North Wales/Cheshire areas.
Can I join a Re:Act team? This is a fantastic opportunity for young people (14+) to experience the 11 days of a Re:Act mission where for just £149 they get virtually full board and accommodation, travel on tour, 3 days training (both spiritual and practical) meeting young people from other tours, 6 days in 6 locations and an evaluation day to round up with what God has done.
Join us in prayer! The Prayer Room is up and running at Kestin House, Luton and available for registered locations to visit and book for use. Each location is asked to have a prayer strategy for their Re:Act day and nationally we are looking to raise our game concerning Re:Act in prayer. If you want more information please contact Bernie Wheeler.
Watch this web space! In future updates we hope to have some stories from locations that are preparing and planning for Re:Act in the summer of 2008. |
