Actor Dave Jenkins completed his own personal tour of 23 venues all over England and Wales with a "homecoming" performance of 'The Word Made Fresh' in his own church in Luton. The hugely successful show, featuring monologues from different Biblical characters, played to a full house at Luton Christian Fellowship on Sunday night.
Other churches in the town had cancelled their own services to support the show and to encourage their members to go along and enjoy Dave's uniquely comic but equally challenging take on the Word of God. His church threw a party for Dave to mark the end of the tour and even presented him with a "Noah's Ark" cake after the emotional climax to the show!
At the same time, the 'No Turning Back' tour completed its seventh and final date in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Around 100 people came along to be a part of the 'No Turning Back' experience, complete with workshops on dance, music & media; inflatables; a chill-out cafe; prayer zones; worship; escapology and a powerful challenge to "live life Christ's way and make a difference"...
During the main event, a call was put out to get involved with next summer's Re:Act mission - especially significant on Sunday evening as two of the location already signed up for Re:Act are in the Stratford area. There was a significant response from the young people present, with many of them signing up for Re:Act teams on the night. All in all a great way to finish this brief but breath-taking tour.
So, two excellent tours concluded in fine style on the same night - and it was certainly a great night for Urban Saints and their partners! |
