The evening was a fantastic success, the heats being run with military precision by the organisers. The Gala was followed by a fun swim in the Leisure Pool, with the young people thoroughly enjoying the wave machine and water slides, while the leaders and parents relaxed in a more leisurely fashion in the wam water and jacuzzi! Everyone then had a quick change and dashed over to the awards ceremony.

Competition between the Groups was fierce, with the 2007 Champions putting in a huge effort to defend their title. A nail-biting awards ceremony finally revealed that Buckhurst Hill St John's had retained the title of Champions for a second year. Watford St Luke's Group was announced runners-up for this year, with Markyate Group, who competed for the first time, finishing in third place.

This event is highly recommended and if you have not attended before then keep an eye out for the 2009 date - just maybe your Group will be the one to take home next year's title!
