Eleven Highlights From 2011
2011 has been a great year at Urban Saints but what have the highlights been? Here's eleven things to get you thinking about your Urban Saints highlights:
Great response at Family Ministry Conference
Early in 2011 we went to the Family Ministry Conference in Eastbourne and there was a phenomenal response - lots of sign-ups to Energize and some really encouraging conversations about how we can serve more churches...

ReBuild became a key mission opportunity
Not only did we run a successful, life-changing house-building project to Mexico in 2011, but we also filled next year's two ReBuild Mexico missions and a new one to South Africa! We even opened bookings for 2013 already...

The Crusader history tour
The Leaders TV programme marked 105 years since the start of the movement by visiting all the key Crusader landmarks - from the birthplace of the movement in North London to the centenary bash at the Royal Albert Hall...

MIMIC launches
In 2011, we launched the brand new discipleship resource after a long development period. MIMIC has the potential to revolutionise the way we empower and encourage our children and young people and the way we run our groups...

More theme parks events
No Alton Towers this year but we were back at Lightwater Valley for the Big Night Out and launched a new exciting combination of white-knuckle rides and awesome concert at Camelot - One Summer Knight - and both events were real crackers...

Supporter Evenings: More than just an appeal
In 2011 we toured the UK with our Supporter Evenings - a hectic mix of fun, inspiration and cake - where we shared the difference Urban Saints makes in the lives of young people using jars of sweets, balloons, paper aeroplanes and batons...

Matt took custard pies for the team
In one of the more light-hearted moments of the year, Matt gallantly agreed to let the Urban Saints team cover him in custard pies for one of our Leaders TV sketches. We've never had more fun...

Connecting with 900 groups
We are now resourcing and supporting over 900 groups - in churches, schools, community centres and homes. By the end of the year, we're very close to 1000 and they're all making a difference in the lives of young people and kids....

Biggest Spree summer ever
Spree, our summer weekend camps programme, grew to its largest size ever this year with hundreds of young people and children attending and many, many making first time commitments to Christ and more making progress in their faith journeys....

Youthwork Summit goes up a notch
The Youthwork Summit - organised with the team from Youthwork Magazine and Youthscape - moved to Manchester, grew to two days and featured over 20 top-class speakers, capped off by Mark Yaconelli and an astonishing disco-dancing finale...

The team play with the Nativity
Finally, we rounded off 2011 with some pure silliness - the Urban Saints team wrote and filmed our own version of the Nativity story, specially for Leaders TV...

So, what's been your highlight? Maybe it was something that happened in your local group or at one of the regional or national Urban Saints activities? Either way, we'd love to hear about it so get in touch!
