Ali has sent out this message to Crusaders past and present everywhere:
"I have taken on the compilation and editing of the Centenary Book of Memories for Crusaders. The original idea was first mentioned in 2005 with contributions coming in ever since. Our dream is to get 100 contributors, if we can. I would like to see these contributions compiled into a book which combines Jack Walford's history of Crusaders and the 'on-the-ground' recollections.
I am therefore asking if you have further contributions to this project. If, however, you know you have already contributed, then you do not need to resubmit anything.
We do need these as soon as possible now (but certainly before the summer holidays) and contributions need to come to myself (Ali Tompkins) preferably via email.
If you are not on email, then sending them by post is also good (28 Lynton Road, Hadleigh, Benfleet, Essex SS7 2QQ).
The plan is to get the book ready for this Christmas.
I would like:
* No more than 500 words on your memories of your time in Crusaders (highlights etc, what it meant, how it shaped them as people)
* Your name and group(s) with which you were associated
* A picture of you in activities etc you may have been involved with.
(N.B. This is specifically about Crusaders)
If you know or come into contact with other people who are ex-Crusaders and who might like to send something in, please do encourage them to do so.
Many thanks for your help in this.
God bless"
Ali Tompkins, Trustee
So, do get your Crusader memories in to us and maybe you'll make it in to the Centenary Book of Memories?! |
