Lives Changed At Spree In The Borders
We're praising God for what happened at Spree in the Borders over the weekend. One of the organisers of the first summer residential of 2009, sent us a few of the highlights!

“Spree was brilliant. We had fantastic weather unlike last year when we were knee deep in mud!! The sun shone and the water activities were a real hit. The team pulled together so well that we were able to sit and relax and enjoy it for the most part of the weekend. Our young peoples speaker did a fantastic job and ran the under 12s very exciting programme which included lots of games, singing, learning about people who discovered Jesus and a gunge tank!! Our 12+ programme speaker had a great sense of wit and communication skills - he won over his "audience" in no time at all and had them eating out of his hands!! Our band leading worship was comprised of young people from Kirkby Lonsdale Urban Saints who, under the guidance of Greg Levers, did a fantastic job.

We had over 30 young people who responded to the message of "Who is this man?" and some rededication of leaders. It was a fantastic weekend. We thank God for the great weather, for good fun, for safety, good team spirit amongst all the various teams present and unity. We praise Him for these new lives in Him and for the many who left knowing more about Jesus, we know they ALL left having had a fantastic time. We pray for those young people for whom through an encounter with Jesus, life will be different. We pray that today they will KNOW the presence of Jesus with them and we pray for their leaders that they will be given wisdom, energy and understanding as they seek ways to help these young people to grow in faith.”

And one leader reports,

“Just back from Spree in the Borders - 17 teens and two leaders still alive despite millions of midge bites! Activities brilliant and speakers really clear - God worked in amazing ways. Five young people made a commitment at the Sat night meeting and loads of questions from others. We now need to work out how to mix that with the people who did not go and how to help the new ones grow. Four of the older ones acted as Stewards and were really challenged about service.”

Let’s keep praying and watch God working in power across our nation this summer – transforming the lives of children and young people. What a privilege it is to serve God in this way. Thank you so much for your prayers – you can see they are making a difference!
