The Emmaus Roadshow, produced by Bible Ventures in St Albans, has now found a permanent home on the Isle of Wight at Westbrook and made its full debut at last month's 'Grand Day Out'. The exhibition-style attraction is housed in two articulated lorry trailers and is split into 4 distinct compartments, each able to house up to 36 people.
"The Emmaus Roadshow uses modern interactive methods of presentation, scale models and brilliant big-screen 3D programmes that enable children to grasp the key themes of the Bible in a variety of ways that hold their attention. A series of three 20-minute presentations take visitors on a three-stage journey through time, from outer space down to the lands of the Bible. They then transfer to a 'cyber-cafe'-style computer suite to explore early church history." (courtesy of the Emmaus Roadshow website)
I liked the variety... the short films were informative but fun.
It was a great way of learning.
I thought it was a very exciting and different approach. It taught me a lot about the Old Testament and Early Church.
The Emmaus Roadshow is aimed at 8-11s and is open to groups (as well as churches & schools) both as part of an organised residential stay at Westbrook or without (although both require prior arrangement). You can find out more via Tony at Westbrook or on the Emmaus Roadshow website. |
