| School's Out For Summer |
| You may be sitting at your computer reading this thinking there isn't long to go until that glorious day, END OF SUMMER TERM!!!! |
Exams are a distant memory and two whole months of Summer stretches out before you. You may also be reading this already in the thick of the holidays. I always remember the last day, it seemed to last for ever and i thought the 3.30 bell would never arrive. This day usually came after a long period of sunshine (by Northern Ireland sunshine, anything over 15c classifies as a good day) throughout an intense exam period and hopes where high of a summer in shorts, with regular times gathered around the BBQ, and of course lying in the back garden. Can you picture the scene?
Unfortunately hopes were usually dashed when the bell rang which corresponded with the heavens opening for a two month monsoon which coincidentally ended on the 1st September!!!
Anyway i still live in hope this year will be different. I praise God that we don't need the weather to have a great time. I pray that after an intense year in school, at work and in your groups that you have a well earned break full of fun relaxation and refreshment!!
If you are heading away on mission this summer i would like to say on behalf of all at Urban Saints that we pray you will know God's richest blessings and that the lives of those you visit will be deeply impacted. We pray that your life and faith will be transformed and that the lives of your families, friends and communities will be challenged through your experience .
Many are heading away on camps - Cranfield, Carrigart and Summer Madness along with many others. We again pray that your time will be special and that you will be deeply challenged and inspired by all you hear from God, and of course that there will be many laughs along the way.
Keep safe, and have a great summer!!!
‘Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is an everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases power to the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ Isaiah 40:28-31
Blessings
