BOOKING NOW OPEN

If you have been to Spree before, you’ll kind of know what to expect - a crazy weekend of activities alongside a worship and teaching programme designed to encourage young people to either take a first step of faith or a significant step forward in their spiritual journey. You’ll know that, other than organise your group to come and take responsibility for their welfare over the course of the weekend, the programme is all sorted by the nice people on the Spree team so that you can spend some quality time with your young people. You’ll also know that we have sole use of Rock UK’s beautiful 120-acre Frontier Centre site at Irthlingborough in Northamptonshire (www.rockuk.org)

If you have not been to Spree before, what can you expect? Well, to start with, we have various options relating to accommodation and catering from camping self-catered through to indoor catered and every point in between. Friday evening kicks off with a free mega-barbecue, so, even if you are self-catering, your first night meal is sorted. We then have an opportunity to spend some time in the teaching worship venues which this year will again be divided into under-11s, 11+ and a ‘Going Deeper’ option for those young people who have already made a commitment. The sessions are designed to be fun, interactive and challenging and will feature a mixture of games, worship, talks, videos, drama, prayer and response times. Then it will be straight into our Late-Nite programme which will include a night walk, games, movies, youth café and prayer activities.

Then it’s to bed - and hopefully to sleep! - before we kick off our Saturday activities which will include canoeing, raft building, the Water Walker, Laser Tag (new for 2013!), the awesome (and scary) King Swing, archery, mountain biking, football, unihoc, giant inflatables, the legendary Spree's Got Talent, crafts and workshops, along with further teaching and worship sessions ... plus a few surprises!

There’s a further opportunity to take part in activities on Sunday morning, including our mega tug of war, and then, after lunch, a final opportunity to connect with God and reflect upon what He’s done over the weekend before it’s time to return home, taking with you some young people who will have memories that will stay with them forever and hopefully new, renewed or strengthened faith for their life journey. Oh yes, and you’ll probably take with you a few earwigs in your luggage!

Don’t just take our word for it. Here’s some quotes from leaders on last year’s event:

“Thank you for organising Spree. It is a fantastic opportunity to bring youngsters together and being able to partake of loads of activities not usually available to them. Also, it is a great opportunity for the leaders’ relationships to be strengthened."

"We had a GREAT time and we are coming back next year please!"

"Thanks once again for a great weekend. You always work so hard to make it enjoyable for our kids. Three of the children in my group made commitments during the services.”

For leaders, Spree not only offers the opportunity for you to get to know your young people better but to meet other leaders (check out the hot chocolate in our amazing Leaders’ Lounge), to hear about new resources and other events that your group may like to participate in, and to receive encouragement and prayer.

For young people aged 16+, Spree offers the opportunity to join our Service Crew – a great way to make new friends, develop leadership skills and grow in their faith. Following its successful trial in 2012 we'll be running another Service Crew Team Day on Saturday 20th April (see booking form for details).

The Service Crew Team Day is an opportunity for young people to come together with other team members for a day of planning and training plus the opportunity to take part in one of the main adventure activities and have their own go on the awesome King Swing!
